I used to put the early apostles on such a pedestal, thinking they were flawless super-Christians who never did anything wrong. Then I reread Galatians 2 today. Peter was happily eating with the Gentile believers. But the second the strict, religious Jewish leaders (James' crew) showed up, Peter got scared of their judgment and backed away, pretending he didn't associate with the "outsiders." Paul was so furious that he confronted Peter in front of everyone and called him a hypocrite. It blew my mind. Even the man who walked on water struggled with the fear of man and church politics. How often do we change our behavior to impress the "religious cool kids" at church? Thank God His grace covers our hypocrisies, and thank God for friends who will tell us the hard truth when we mess up. #ChurchCulture #ApostlePaul #FaithJourney #AuthenticFaith #Grace
